Today was our half-way ultrasound. I've been so scared pretty much constantly with this pregnancy, based on how rough this started out. Although some of the health concerns that came up seem to be doing a bit better, they're still concerns (my thyroid levels are still not out of the 'danger' zone yet, but they're getting closer, and if nothing else at least aren't getting worse!), and I hadn't felt the baby moving for a while which scared me even more. So I was pretty terrified going into this ultrasound! But, thanks to many prayers (thank you all!) and the intercessions of some awesome Communion of Saints, things look good!
The baby is now 19 weeks and 6 days (further than originally thought...we'll get to that end of May birthdate yet!), and weighs about 10 ounces. Here are a few pictures of our little one:
His/her legs and little baby butt (just after it rolled over to avoid having its picture taken - just like me, camera shy :D)
Their face (to the right, hiding under that big old dark forehead) - I know, it looks like an alien (and kind of like Skeletor, which we're now considering for their new pre-birth knick-name :D), but we think they're adorable anyways!

It liked to have its hands up by its face. Again, I think they're just camera-shy (and take after me), but Mike claims that's his trait since that's how he sleeps. Either way...
And, if that wasn't proof enough....my belly is definitely starting to share the good news on its own!
Thank you again to everyone who's been praying for our (literally) growing family!

You could be like Chris K. and say..."We're hoping for human."
I'm with you, at least for the first child, on finding out the gender...be surprised!! Isn't that part of the fun and suspense!!
BTW: You are so cute with your little preggo belly and glowing face.
He/She is beautiful already. Congratualations again. It was wonderful to hear that things are going well so far and the little one is farther along than you thought. Just a few more weeks and you reach that hurdle where the risks are much less. I know it really made things easier for me. It made the pregnancy pains not seem so bad. :) Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy. I can't wait to meet the little boy or girl.
I'm glad things are going well. You're looking adorable!
